In any sort of living space, cleaning up certain areas can sometimes turn into your worst nightmare. In your own home, maintaining your living area has to become a priority in order to maintain the homes value and functionality. - Gutters: Your gutters route water from the homes roof to a place that it can drain away from the house, protecting your siding windows, doors and foundation from water damage. Unfortunately, despite their functionality, gutters can be a huge headache to clean, especially when they fill with leaves and debris. Its best to clean gutters at least twice a year. To clean them, you will need a to use a mixture of water and vinegar and scrub with a sponge or tooth brush.
- Oven: If you use your oven regularly, you often run into the problem of carbon (baked on black stuff on the bottom of the oven) on the inside of your oven. To prevent this build up, you can make a home-made baking soda and water solution to spray on the walls between uses. If you need to clean up the carbon, you can use the self cleaner or a number of products available at your local store.
- Windows: Cleaning the windows of your house, both inside and out can turn into a huge headache. Make sure to remove screens before cleaning your windows from the outside and use a a mixture of dish soap and water. Windex or another form of ammonia works well for the indoor windows.
- Refrigerator: Your refrigerator can accumulate sticky patches and stains from food and get unorganized very quickly. Getting organized is the first way to clean the refrigerator. After that, pull out all the food and wipe down the inside of the fridge with a mixture of baking soda and water.
- Carpet: If you have kids, pets or clumsy fingers, you know how easy it is to stain your carpet. The best way to remove most stains is by blotting and rinse the area with water. Make sure not to scrub the area, or you will set in the stain more permanently.
- Garage: The garage tends to accumulate your stuff, while getting dirty very quickly because of the exposure to outside. Make sure to sweep regularly and stay organized.
